Here are the instructions if you've volunteered to do the refreshments for the Hort meeting. Thank you we really appreciate your help! There will be people at the meeting that will help you, or just ask someone.

1. Check with the person who did refreshments the previous month to find out what shopping needs to be done. 

2. TO BE PURCHASED PRIOR TO MEETING: The following items need to be on hand. Not all items will have to be purchased each month. Please bring receipts to the meeting, we need them for our records

• Dairy: 250 ml 2% milk, 250 ml 10% cream
• Cookies: 2 - 3 packets of reasonably priced different kinds or brownies, a loaf or something homemade. 

TO BE PURCHASED IF NECESSARY (see comment in No. 1)

• Coffee: Columbia coffee beans, “perc” grind 
• Teas: Orange pekoe, Earl Grey, and 2-3 kinds of herbal teas
• Sugar: Cubes
• Stir Sticks
• Napkins: (cocktail size) have

Tea towels: Please bring 2 from home.

Keep all receipts and reimburse yourself from the money received by selling the refreshments. Any money left over from the sale of the refreshments at the end of the evening should be given to the Treasurer, together with receipts for shopping purchases. If the costs are more than the funds we took in for refreshments, you can get reimbursed. 

3. Refreshment equipment is stored at church in a locked storage room next to the meeting hall on the North wall. Someone will have the have the key and open the storage room. There are 2 cupboards on wheels that get moved into the kitchen. One with doors has the urns and one with drawers has the other supplies.

4. As soon as you get there (6:30 p.m. or earlier) completely fill the Hot Water urn and plug in, it takes 30 – 40 mins to heat up. This is for the tea.

5. Then put enough water in the coffee urn to make 10 cups of coffee. Use 1 – 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per cup (a standard cup is 6 oz which is about the size of our cups). Put the coffee in the urn in the basket, plug in and turn on. Urns are ready when the light turns on.

6. Arrange cookies on plates. Put out cups, teas, stir sticks and napkins. Add the donation card which shows the suggested price for coffee or tea and a couple of cookies is $1.

7. At end of meeting, give away any leftover cookies or take them home. Dump coffee grounds (green bin). Empty urns and wash and dry coffee cups. Pack up supplies and put back in storage room. Take your tea-towels home. Please let us know if we need more supplies!
