The Remembering Garrison Creek Garden is located in a valley on the west side of Dufferin Grove Park in Toronto. It commemorates the Garrison Creek tributary, Dennison Creek, which used to run through this section of the park.
Romero House is an organization that welcomes refugees and accommodates them temporarily in three or four houses in that same area. The garden is pretty big and needs lots of work. More than half of it is devoted to vegetables (in boxes) for the use of the refugees. It’s also a sloping garden—very sloping actually—and part of it is terraced.
In 1994, St Christopher House at Ossington and Dundas Streets, was a charming sunny enclosure, planted with whatever small trees, shrubs and plants that could be found, germinated, divided or donated by staff and volunteers.
