Healing Gardens Tour - Sunday June 19, 2016

While gardens provide a respite from the hustle of city life and put us in touch with nature, they also can be a vehicle for healing troubled minds, developing skills, providing opportunities for creativity and manual labour and much more.  The focus of our bus trip this year is to visit five gardens that have been created to serve special groups in the community.  Each garden is designed to offer programs for a different population: abused youth, mentally and physically challenged people, the elderly and high risk youth.

All the settings are unique as well: a downtown house, a large conservancy, a riverside park, a retirement  home and a farm.  We will meet the therapists in charge of the gardens and learn about the background and programs offered.

This all day bus trip takes us from Mississauga to Guelph.
