In 2011 we had our first Vegetable Garden Tour. It was fascinating to see the variety of vegetable gardens and the diverse selection of plants that people were planting.

From the 1830s to the 1880s, John and Jemima Howard gardened extensively around their home, Colborne Lodge. Thanks to Howard's practise of keeping detailed records of the plantings, visitors to the Lodge today can enjoy a re-creation of their ornamental, kitchen and tomb gardens.
